FILETANK VERSION 2.8 IS RELEASED.
Current release introduces
groups of users and improves naming rules for files, folders, workspaces and groups.
A group is a top-level folder in the tree-like structure which appears when you open 'Users' tab on the left (group-user tree). Group folders are all folders inside a group.
Groups and group folders have 2 functions - to organize the ordinary users into meaningful lists and to help adding ordinary users to workspaces.
Only administrators can see the group-user tree.
- When you add a group or a group folder to a workspace you also automatically add all ordinary users and all group folders in it to the workspace. This is a useful way to add a number of ordinary users to a workspace with one drag and drop.
- When a group folder is added to a number of workspaces and you add an ordinary user to this group folder, the user is automatically added to all these workspaces.
There is an upgrade in
naming rules on FT. In addition to the other allowed characters, you can use
@ & ' ( ) in file and folder names and in names of groups, workspaces and group folders.
